Best Los Angeles Restaurants for a Birthday

Celebrate your birthday with the best Los Angeles restaurants!

In this article, we explore some of the best Los Angeles restaurants to gather close friends and family together for a special birthday dinner.

If you are looking for a restaurant that can accommodate a big group, all of these restaurants have plenty of space, excellent ambiance, and delicious food and drinks to enjoy with loved ones.

Capri Club

You do not need to make a reservation ahead of time to get into this restaurant in Eagle Rock. Weekends at Capri Club can get very busy. But if you want your birthday event to feel like a party where people can come and go as they please, this restaurant is a good option.

Many people come to this restaurant solely for the bar. Their most popular drinks are the house negroni and martini. Their food options are equally delicious. If you are interested in small bites to enjoy with drinks, their popular small plates are the fried risotto bites and pancetta-wrapped dates.

Cosa Buona

If eating pizza and smoked mozzarella sticks surrounded by friends sounds like your kind of night, look no further than Cosa Buona in Echo Park. If you walk up the stairs at this restaurant, you will find a private dining space that not many people know about. In this area, you can personalize your menu and host your birthday dinner with up to 26 people as guests.

Ilé

This pop-up Nigerian restaurant in Hollywood offers a unique dining experience. Located in a luxurious Hollywood apartment, Ilé features a nine-course tasting menu with authentic Nigerian dishes such as spicy lamb suya and jollof rice. As each dish makes its way to your table, a staff member will share a personal story accompanied by 70s Nigerian funk music. This restaurant has a BYOB policy (Bring Your Own Bottle, whether that be beer, wine, or liquor). Tickets are $250 per guest. So, if you like to go all out on your birthday this restaurant is a good option.

Cobras & Matadors

Do you like the idea of eating tapas with friends and drinking BYOB wine? If so, you should consider a birthday dinner at the Spanish restaurant Cobras & Matadors located in Beverly Grove. Some of their popular dishes are the grilled asparagus topped with manchego and gambas al ajilo. It is worth mentioning that there is a $20 flat fee for BYOB.

This restaurant is very low key. They do not have a website, telephone number, or reservations to look into. All of their details can be found on their Instagram page.

Pijja Palace

If you are in the mood for Indian food for your birthday dinner, you should check out Pijja Palace in Silver Lake. Flat screen TVs showing sports cover all the walls. This pizza parlor doesn’t offer your typical sports bar atmosphere. It stands out with interior design reminiscent of a Nordic thermal spa. The menu offers delicious, casual bites with an Indian twist. You can order food items such as dosa onion rings or rigatoni with masala. Even if you are not a huge sports fan, you can still enjoy the unique dining experience.

Birthday dinners are special. We know how challenging it can be to plan out such a special event, though. We hope this list of best Los Angeles restaurants can help you decide where to take your guests and yourself out for a fun evening for your birthday, whether it’s a super casual hangout or a fine dining experience!
